"The Dockside Keeper"
The Keeperis used to keep your Keeper fish protected and alive for
days next to your dock. With the patented design of the Keeper it has a
continuous flow of water in and out through the slots on the sides generating
oxygen with the water flow movement to keep the fish alive.
The "Dockside Keeper" is a rectangular stainless steel box
with a spring loaded hinged door on one end to take your Keeper fish in and out.
With the Keeper properly placed next to your dock, at the correct water level, the
constant flow of water in and out through the upper slot’s, generates oxygen for
the fish to stay alive. Also, with the design on the top side covered
to 95%; there is no direct sun light on the fish keeping them protected from
the suns rays at all times. The side walls is constructed from .750 stainless steel mesh, half
the way down the side wall; allowing smaller bait fish such as minnows to swim through.
With the weight of the stainless steel, the Keeper will sit flat on the lake floor
with very little movement. With the durability of the 18 gage stainless steel walls,
the Keeper can withstand the most rugged banging of rocks if such force
does occur by waves. The heavy duty Stainless Steel Spring hinged door also
protects your Keeper fish and keeps them safe from predators getting inside.
Background of Invention
Living in Minnesota fishing has been my family’s favorite sport. From
catching & releasing to catching & eating we have caught our fair share
of fish. We have trolled along shorelines fishing and have seen a few wooden box
type home made fish boxes that will not last. The intended use of the Keeper
is to put your fish in here to clean at a later date or to clean all your
fish at one time and the box will never rust and will last for years to come.
Basically, when it comes time to clean all your fish they are all still fresh
and alive or maybe when you catch a “big one” you would like to show to others,
and then release it back into the lake. The Keeper allows you to do this and
will hold it for you well protected. While making and testing a wide variety of
fish keeping units, I designed this Stainless Steel type that is durable and
well built, and will last forever indeed. This is a rust and corrosion free product.
